With ambitions to become an artist, Scott studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee. In June 2000, he graduated with a degree in illustration and printmaking, and much of his time is spent traveling the country in search of inspiration for a different representation of the Scottish landscape. The many lakes, valleys and islands of the west coast are among his favorite subjects. Since 2004, Scott has been lecturing in the Creative Arts department at West College Scotland, where his changing horizons from dark to light are a metaphor for optimism and hope.
